As well as helping clients directly through our wide range of proven and effective therapies, we also provide training for parents and professionals.
As we have specialists working across the age range and in different areas of specialism, we can offer training for professionals working within different areas of mental health.
Our lead focus is currently on child development, behavioural management, and attachment in Children and Young People. Whether you need skills to help a child with a particular issue, or broad training in child behaviour, or any other age range, we can tailor training packages to meet customers’ specific needs and preferences.
Parents will be equipped with basic principles to apply to common problems, such as tantrums, fussy eating, separation anxiety and advice on how to get more of the behaviours they want to see.
We can help parents understand their children’s behaviour, based on social learning theory, incorporating information on child development.
This would involve practice at home for parents to try out techniques and see them in action.
Learned techniques can reduce conflict and increase understanding of children’s emotions and behaviours.
Training can also introduce an understanding of attachment from a parent’s perspective, to help understand how to build a strong bond with their child.
Specific training for nurseries on child development, again understanding children’s behaviours, how their brains are developing and how to work effectively with them at each stage.
Our training can help to explain and understand common trauma reactions in children and equip school staff to think about how to help children with this.
