Tim Chapman has over 7 years professional experience working with a wide range of mental health difficulties within adult mental health, addictions and forensic psychology. He qualified as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist from the University of Hull (2009-2010) and is a registered Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (Membership No: 100059). Tim is also a trained practitioner in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy and is a member of the EMDR Association, UK and Ireland (Membership No: C202). After his extensive experience as a Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist Tim undertook a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2012 and qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2015.
Tim has worked for the NHS in the West Yorkshire region since 2007 and has gained experience in providing psychological therapy for a wide range of mental health difficulties including depression, low self-esteem, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, health anxiety, social phobia and generalised anxiety disorder. Tim has extensive experience in providing psychological therapy for a wide range of mental health difficulties including depression, low self-esteem, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, health anxiety, social phobia and generalised anxiety disorder. He also has experience in treating posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) using both Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and EMDR therapy.
Tim has been working as an associate of Northern Clinical Psychology Services since January 2012, specialising in offering evidence-based psychotherapy for depression, low self-esteem and anxiety disorders. He believes in working openly and collaboratively with clients in a supportive environment to enable them to build resilience and work through their difficulties.
Outside of work, Tim enjoys live music, travel and cycling. He is usually training for some kind of running event, but is equally happy sitting on the sofa watching a good box set.
